Extremadura@home is a popular science project which aims at bringing together the collaboration of citizens with scientific research projects by means of Volunteer Computing.

Volunteer computing is an agreement between citizens or institutions (volunteers) who donates their computing resources (computers) to research projects of their interest (medicine, chemistry, physics, climate prediction, etc.).
A large number of computers working together can provide a huge computing power, which can be used by different research projects for studying theories, performing experiments, etc.
Who can become a volunteer?
Any Citizen or institution with a desktop computer connected to Internet.
