Cibermix presents the Volunteer Computing technology through the Extremadurathome project

CIBERMIX is a technological symposium which aim is to present the benefits of broadband and the information and communication technologies. One of the main points of this symposium is the proximity and the ease of use of the technological tools and networks. In this edition, CIBERMIX Extremadura has new workshops about Volunteer Computing presenting the project Extremadurathome. The goal of this workshops is to explain the meaning of Volunteer Computing and how is possible to become a scientific volunteer.

200 computers and still counting!!

Congratulations!!! After the workshop presented in Mérida the 5th of March within the conference "Xtrenlan con Botas", the number of computers collaborating with science have reached the amount of 200.

Each day, new computers arrive with the goal of collaborating with scientific research projects, as a result of presenting the Volunteer Computing technology to the community. You can become a CyberVolunteer and this is a good opportunity! Join us!

Workshop about Volunteer Computing in "Xtrelan con Botas"

Volunteer Computing is going to be presented in the following conference: Xtrelan, which is going to take place in the "Centro Universitario de Mérida", Spain.

You can bring your laptop to join the Extremadurathome project and learn about the BOINC technology and how to collaborate with science.

There is a new BOINC version

There is a new version of BOINC, the 6.4.7. We recommend to upgrade to this last version, because there are new bug fixes. Go to the official BOINC web page and download it from there.

The Scientific Volunteer network rise

There are more than 120 volunteers connected to Extremadurathome, who have summed a total of 51283 credits (measure unit based on the computing time). It is very interesting to note that Extremadurathome is going up in the ranking 52738 positions weekly in average.
