Two proffesors from the University of Extremadura have won the international Prace Award 2009 in supercomputing.

The cultural week of the University Center of Mérida, UEX, talks about Volunteer Computing

Coinciding with the Cultural Week of the University Center of Mérida, UEX, Spain, celebrated until 26th Sunday,  with talks about health, computing, carrer counselling, or topography, has presented also in the Tuesday morning  a workshop about Volunteer Computing and the goals of the Extremadurathome project.
 
All the participants could try how easy is to become a volunteer in any scientifi research project
 

EXTREMADURATHOME in Internautas en Acción - Navaconcejo

The conference "Internautas en Acción" celebrated the 18th of April in Navaconcejo has a workshop about Volunteer Computing offered by the IndenTIC Consortium. The aim was to dynamize all the groups and the employment of the new technologies as a tool for communication and participation.

International Volunteer Computing leaders support Extremadurathome


Extremadurathome has been recently presented in the International Symposium of Grid Computing held in Taiwan. Apart from presenting this popular scientific project and promoting the CyberVolunteering that is taking place in Extremadura, it has been presented the tool which is being developed thanks to this project, and used as the project's management tool: Jarifa.
Therefore, Extremadurathome obtains  the interest and acknowledgment form the international Volunteer Computing leaders, who have given their explicit support with a photo wearing the official project's T-shirt: Extremadurathome.
 

Xtrelan presents Volunteer Computing


The past Sunday, 29th of March at 10.30 am, in Xtrelan, it was a conference about Volunteer Computing. The attendants learned about this technology and its features, as well as how to become a CyberVolunteer using their computers.

Another conference about Volunteer Computing was also presented in the event known as "Xtrelan con Botas", the 5th of March in Mérida, Spain. More conferences and workshops like these ones will be published in www.extremadurathome.org and in the official Facebook group.

Xtrelan is a Lan-party that has been celebrating since 2007 in Cáceres, Spain.
