Rosetta@home

Do you want to help to find new vaccines or therapies to treat different diseases? If your answer is affimartive, vote for the project Rosetta@home.

The goal of  Rosetta@home project is to solve one of the most challenging scientific problems: the protein folding.

In the words of the Doctor and leader of the project David Barker: "Proteins are the miniature machines that carry out almost all the important functions in your body". Therefore, it is really important to know how the proteins work, and thus to know also their structure. The structure of proteins is defined based on a sequence of amino acid sequences, but it is very difficult to know the structure of a protein via its amino acid squence.

Proteins by Rosetta@Home

The project tries to solve this problem using the computers of thousands of volunteers around the world. All the improvements obtained by this project will help to design new vaccines and/or therapies for diseases, thanks to the better knowledge of proteins.

If you like the project and you want that Extremadurathome.org volunteers collaborate with the protein folding problem, vot for it.
